Dienstleistungsbeschreibung
Trade register extract - written information
Public authorities and private individuals can obtain an extract from the trade register on request. The consent of the person concerned is not required for their data to be passed on.
The name of the business or owner, the business address and the reported activity are generally accessible. In Berlin, this basic data can be viewed electronically on the Internet in the eAuskunft (see "More information").
For additional extended trade register information (e.g. home address, name at birth, date of birth, etc.), you must provide evidence of a legal interest (e.g. to assert legal claims; loans granted to the trader, etc.).
Third parties are not legally entitled to receive the data. The trade register is not a public register (such as the commercial, co-operative or association register). The provision of information is at the discretion of the responsible public order office.
The information from the trade register corresponds to what has been reported to the regulatory authorities up to the time the information is provided. The public order offices accept no liability for the accuracy and completeness of the information.
Procedure:
- You can complete and submit your application for written information from the Berlin Trade Register online.
- The responsible office will check your details and request any missing evidence. You will receive instructions on the further procedure and will be informed of the processing status by e-mail.
- If all requirements are met and the information on the requested business is available, you will receive a fee notice and written information from the business register by post. If the requested business in Berlin cannot be identified, you will receive a fee notice and negative information by post.

Hinweise zur Zuständigkeit
The trade register is kept by the public order offices. It contains all the companies and businesses based in the respective Berlin districts. If you also wish to obtain information about private individuals (e.g. current registration address), you must apply for an extract from the register of residents.
All data provided is updated daily. However, the Berlin public order offices can only provide the trade data that is also reported by the companies. If individual businesses do not submit a corresponding business registration, their data can of course not be included in the eInformation. It is no longer possible to provide information on businesses that have been deregistered for more than one year.
